Processing characteristics:
Cold workability: Easily machined by turning, milling, drilling, etc.
Hot workability: Overheating should be avoided during high-temperature forging to prevent grain coarsening.
Cutting performance: Due to its high hardness (e.g., C17200 can reach 38-44 HRC), carbide tools are required, and cooling should be carefully controlled.
Aging treatment: After cold working, aging treatment is usually required (e.g., holding at 300-320℃ for 2-4 hours) to activate the precipitation hardening effect.
Typical parameters:
Softening temperature: Approximately 930℃
Electrical conductivity: 18-22% IACS
Tensile strength: Can reach over 1100 MPa

I. Nuclear energy industry
1. Used as a moderator and reflector in reactor2. Used as cladding and structural material for heat-releasing elements, as well as for the skin of rockets and spacecraft, and the casings of missile warheads
3. Used as a diluent for materials
4. Used as a neutron source and photoneutron source.
II. Aerospace industry
1. Manufacturing of transition casings and skins for rockets, missiles, and spacecraft;
2. Used as structural material in large spacecraft and space shuttles
3. Manufacturing of aircraft brakes, radiators, condensers, and engines
4. Manufacturing of gyroscopes and gyro platforms, and accelerometers in inertial navigation systems for missiles, spacecraft, and aircraft.
III. Metallurgical industry
1. Ferrous metallurgy: Beryllium is a very strong solid solution strengthening element for ferrite, greatly increasing the permeability of steel.
2. Non-ferrous metals: (1) Beryllium copper alloy: high strength, good conductivity, fatigue resistance, and wear resistance. (2) Beryllium aluminum alloy: light weight, high rigidity, and high temperature resistance.
